Mervyn King...

Born in 1948 Mervyn King studied at Kings College, Cambridge and Harvard University. He joined the Bank of England in 1991 as deputy Governor and Chief Economist. June 2003 sore the retirement of Sir Edward George and Mr King appointed as Governor of the Bank of England

The first speech of 2009 came from the Governor and was hosted in the East Midlands Conference Centre back in January.

The event was attended by around 500 guests and included various business dignitaries along with the national and local media.
