Go Greener Week at The University of Nottingham...

Sales Executives Daniel Smith and Sam Wallace from Nottingham Conferences swapped their cars for bikes for their daily commute into work as part of a ‘Go Greener Week' organised by the University of Nottingham.

The ‘Go Greener Week' is an awareness raising initiative by the university to encourage visitors, staff and students to think about ways in which they can act in a more environmentally friendly manner. The week has already seen a guest lecture on how to be greener with fair-trade refreshments on offer, a second hand bicycle sale, as well as an East Midlands Food Market.

Between them Sam and Daniel clocked up 22 miles as part of their daily commute to and from work. Daniel has also signed up to be a ‘Bike Buddy' which sees him volunteering to offer his assistance to staff that would like to cycle into work but might be unsure on cycle routes in the area. Sam has additionally made a pledge with the University's ‘Ucycle scheme' to cycle into work at least twice a week.
