75 Metre-wide Crane Appears on Hotel Construction Site

A huge 45 metre high crane, spanning a massive 75 metres across has been installed on-site adjacent to the East Midlands Conference Centre.

The crane was delivered on Thursday 29th September on seven separate co-ordinated arctic lorry loads, to achieve minimal disruption and installed on-site. It will be use to distribute heavy materials into place during construction work on the new hotel.

Construction started in July 2011 and is due to be complete by the end of 2012. When finished, the hotel will feature 202 bedrooms, including 50 executive-style rooms, four board rooms, a restaurant, bar and fitness room.
